Volunteers Needed!

United Way's mission is to increase the organized capacity of people in Androscoggin County to care for one another. United Way of Androscoggin County leads and supports strategic initiatives that work to identify the root causes of community-wide problems and brings collective community resources together to implement long-lasting solutions.

We're bringing together the hearts, hands and minds of our community to make it one of the best places in the country for children and families. Impact Council Volunteer

United Way of Androscoggin County works towards its mission by focusing on three key impact areas: Education, Health and Financial Stability.  Education, Health and Financial Stability make up our three impact councils. Impact volunteers oversee United Way of Androscoggin County's Community Investment Process. Volunteers serve on one of the three impact councils. Some of the council responsibilities include:

  • Review agency funding applications and make recommendations based on application.
  • Participate on agency site visits, program reviews and review progress reports.
  • Provide input and feedback on Community Investment application.
  • Attend council meetings.

Development Committee Volunteer

Volunteers on the Development Committee work to broaden public awareness and support through education of the United Way and its mission and values.  Individuals work on all facets of the organization, including marketing the campaign, increasing awareness, press releases, annual video, etc.  Volunteers also provide valuable support with their knowledge of community contacts.
