Come One Come All to learn about area Volunteer Opportunities
LEWISTON, MAINE (September 28, 2015) United Way of Androscoggin County, in conjunction with the Androscoggin Volunteer Administrators, announce its Volunteer Fair taking place on Thursday, October 15. The public is welcome to visit and talk with local agencies in regards to volunteer opportunities and initiatives in our areas. The event will take place at the Lewiston Career Center located at 5 Mollison Way in Lewiston from 10am to 1pm.
Local agencies such as United Way of Androscoggin County, Advocates for Children, American Red Cross, Beacon Hospice, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Catholic Charities — SEARCH Program, Community Concepts, Central Maine Medical Center, SeniorsPlus, Sexual Assault Prevention & Response Services, The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing, Tree Street Youth and many more.
“There are many opportunities to serve our community. The key is to serve where your passion is. If you love kids, Advocates for Children, or Seniors, SEARCH or SeniorsPlus. For one time opportunities the Dempsey Challenge is coming right up. Many non-profits need office support. Whatever your skill level or interest there is an agency who could use your help,” expressed Heather Chandel, Coordinator of Volunteer Services at SeniorsPlus.
