Help for Hard Times _______________________________________________________________
A word from our Executive Director, Joleen Bedard
In this recession, you may have found yourself among many in our community facing the  loss of a job, finanical difficulties, home ownership or credit challenges and in need for  health and human services.  The resources listed below are intended to help you  address "Now what?" with information, contacts and links to other sites to access much  more detailed information
The United Way of Androscoggin County mission is to improve lives in our community.  This includes helping people get through hard times. Unemployment, even temporary,   is probably one of the most difficult experiences to endure. Losing your job is traumatic,   especialy when it affects your entire family's income. Knowing where to turn and taking   control of your situation can reduce the impact on you and your family.
We continue to focus on advancing the common good. Based on the belief that when you   help one person, you better the situation of the community as a whole. This section of our site offers                suggestions to maintain your quality of life while searching for employment or handling other finanical
difficulties.  For example, our link to 2-1-1 Maine can help you find lowcost health insurance, prevent   foreclosure, seek   credit counseling and health and human services for which you may qualify.
