2015 Androscoggin County Holiday Resources

Rural Community Action Ministry – For Leeds, Greene, Turner, Livermore, Sabattus and Wales. To receive assistance for food and Christmas gifts for children and the elderly, please contact RCAM by December 7th at 524-5095. 


Hope Haven Gospel Mission (209 Lincoln St., Lewiston) – Gifts for children 13 and under in Lewiston/Auburn who aren’t getting help from other resources. Applications will be accepted November 16th – December 4th. Applicants need to bring a picture ID and proof of custody. Gifts can be picked up between 9 & 3 on December 18th – please bring picture ID. Christmas dinner will be served from 11 am –1 pm on Christmas day. Please call 783-6086 if you are unable to attend the meal, and they will deliver a meal to you.


Town of Lisbon – Gifts for children from ages newborn thru high school. Applications can be picked up at the Lisbon Town Office, 300 Lisbon Street, Lisbon and need to be submitted by December 10th. Please call 353-3000 and ask for the General Assistance office if you have any questions.


Town of Mechanic Falls – The Santa Program offers toys, food and clothing for residents of Mechanic Falls. Applications can be filled out at the town office at 108 Lewiston Street during office hours, which are Monday thru Thursday, 7:30 – 5:30 and Friday, 7:30 – 11:30. Please apply before December 18th. Call 345-2870 if you have any questions.


Town of Poland – Toys for children up to age 12 who are residents of Poland. Please contact Larry and Suzanne Foster at 998-2653 by December 18th, to apply for assistance.


Trinity Jubilee Center – Trinity Jubilee will serve a holiday meal on December 24th starting at 11:15 a.m. at 247 Bates Street, Lewiston.


Toys for Tots – New toys are donated and distributed to children in need. Applications accepted at toysfortots.org. 


2-1-1 – 2-1-1 is a free, state-wide information and referral service with resources (if available) to help yourself, family or friends. Dial 211 or go online to www.211maine.org.
