* In 2004, 200 high school students in our county dropped out of school.

UNITED WAY LOANED EXECUTIVES GEAR UP FOR CAMPAIGN

LEWISTON, ME: With the 2007 community fundraising campaign underway, four local businesses are generously supporting United Way of Androscoggin County by loaning individuals from their companies to assist with the fundraising goal of $1,900,000. Loaned Executives from L.L.Bean, Hannaford Auburn, Tambrands – P&G and Formed Fiber Technologies participated in an intensive weeklong training where they developed leadership, presentation, project management and public speaking skills, as well as a deeper knowledge of the impact United Way funded programs have on residents of Androscoggin County. 

Loaned Executives assist with the development and execution of workplace campaigns by conducting presentations to local businesses and groups of employees.   

Joanie Davis-Dunn is on loan to United Way from L.L. Bean, Inc., where she is a front-line supervisor at the Lewiston call center. She is currently earning her Bachelors Degree from the University of Maine at Augusta. Joanie lives in Hebron with her husband David and daughter Elizabeth.

Loaned Executive Anthony Prock comes to United Way from Hannaford Auburn where he is an assistant customer service manager. Anthony also devotes his time to helping people by working as an Emergency Medical Technician.

Linda Wheeler is on loan to United Way from Tambrands/Procter & Gamble where she is an Employee Relations Leader for Tambrands. A mother of three, Linda lives in Bowdoin with her husband, Walter.
