United Way Campaign Gathering Momentum
During this year’s United Way campaign, members of our community are once again demonstrating their generosity and commitment to building a better, healthier Androscoggin County. This year United Way aims to raise $1.8 million to be spent here in Androscoggin County on programs that improve the lives of children and families, senior citizens and those needing help to achieve self-sufficiency. To date, the campaign has reached just over 20 percent of the community goal. With continued support of new and existing partners like you, we have every reason to believe United Way will reach the campaign goal and have a larger positive impact on our region this year.

October is a great time to provide an update on the community’s United Way campaign and send an invitation to our upcoming events.

Join Us: Upcoming United Way Events
Saturday, Oct. 28: The community is invited to join United Way of Androscoggin County for a community education event in conjunction with Evergreen Subaru (774 Center Street, Auburn) from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. In addition to offering information on the community resources funded by United Way of Androscoggin County, the event will highlight the local initiatives of 2-1-1 Maine, Red Cross, Trinity Jubilee Center, Advocates for Children, Sisters of Charity Food Pantry and include food, live music from Pound of Tea, crafts, prizes and more. As a thank you to the community, Evergreen will help make sure your Subaru is ready for winter with a free seasonal service inspection.

When you come by Evergreen Subaru on October 28, please help us fill the nine Subaru Baja’s on the lot with packages of diapers (sizes 4-6) for Trinity Jubilee and canned goods for Sisters of Charity Food Pantry. We look forward to seeing you there!

Thursday, Nov. 6: The Campaign Celebration will be held at Martindale Country Club in Auburn from 5-9:00 p.m. This year United Way of Androscoggin County is pleased to welcome comedian George Hamm to the event, which will also include dinner and an awards ceremony. Nationally recognized for his hysterical antics, George Hamm has brought laughter to those around the nation – from the Comedy Connection in Portland to the Improv in Los Angeles and performed alongside some of the nations best comics. Please RSVP now for the Campaign Celebration. Advance payment of $25 per person is appreciated.

Friday, Feb. 2: Hold the date for United Way Donor AppreciationNight at the MAINEiacs game….please stay tuned for more information, including reduced price tickets for United Way donors!
