Day of Caring
In 2006, 165 volunteers from 18 local companies participated in the annual Day of Caring with one goal in mind: to improve the community. Volunteers painted walls, washed windows, spruced up playgrounds, and weeded neighborhood gardens. On the heels of a very successful 2006 Day of Caring, we are gearing up for this year’s event. Stay tuned for more information on how your company can get involved.

Spring 2007 News
While spring has arrived in Maine without the warm weather, the activities here at United Way of Androscoggin County are heating up. Here’s a quick snapshot of what’s happening:
2007 Community Investments
For the past several weeks our office has been filled with dozens of volunteers meeting with local non-profit agencies and pouring over the decisions for our new investment model – Community Impact. Wednesday morning United Way of Androscoggin County Board of Directors unveiled the 2007 community investments during a breakfast to thank these hard working volunteers. I am very pleased with this year’s progression and extremely grateful for the work of our Board of Directors, Oversight Council and Impact volunteers who spent over 3000 hours working on this process.
Community Impact demonstrates a renewed commitment to our community and a desire to remain innovative and keep our organization’s business model fresh and relevant. Our organization’s number one priority remains the same – effectively using donor dollars to create a stronger community for us all to enjoy. [MORE information on Community Impact]
