If you are in need of assistance with a health or social service related issue then 2-1-1 is the number to dial.  2-1-1 is an easy-to-remember, phone number and website (www.211maine.org) that connects individuals to comprehensive vital health and social service information and resources. 

2-1-1 answers to a wide range of issues including: Shelter, Counseling, Senior Services, Child Care, Veterans Services, Disability Services, Transportation, Education Programs, Energy Assistance and more. This past December, 2-1-1 assisted over 400 callers in Androscoggin County; where a majority of the calls were for heating assistance.

2-1-1 Maine is a confidential and free way for everyone to get connected with vital human services. The key partners that made the development of 2-1-1 Maine possible include all ten United Ways in Maine, Ingraham and the State of Maine.

2-1-1 Maine is a powerful example of how government, nonprofit and private sectors can work together to improve the quality of life for citizens of Maine. It is because of this effective collaboration that Maine is now the fifteenth state to have 2-1-1 services available statewide.
